＊Pretty buttons＊オランダの懐かしいボタン＊

I am crazy about buttens.
One of my favorite things is to find pretty buttons from lots of buttens.
I was also often looking for bottons at the second hand shop in Rotterdam.
It is like treasure hunting, I enjoyed taking to the people in the shop while I was looking for the buttons.
I would like to share these beautiful buttons from the Netherlands with you.
These buttons must have gotten so much memories ....

ボタンを探していると宝探しをしているような気持ちになります。
探している間、お店の人も手伝ってくれたり一緒に探したり、
ボタンが人をつなげてくれた事も少なくありません。

waffle dress

Marie made waffle dress for the art& fashion contest.


Title: “ Model warfare ”

Materials: waffle, cotton cloth, thread

Models have to live up to standards, which are hard to reach.
They have to have the perfect weight and body.
The dress is an “armor” against the hard model world.
And on the other side a weapon against your enemies.
The waffle gives the dress a look of an ancient samurai outfit
they whore for going in to battle.
This dress symbolizes the tense border between the “perfect”
body and not living up to the standards.
The dress is made from something models cannot have, sugar (waffles).
Something you give your enemies. On the other hand
it can give you comfort in hard times.
The peace you can find in eating.
It is on one hand your best protection and
on the other hand your greatest weakness.

One day trip to Antwerp

We went to Antwerp together to get some inspiration for our new works.
It is very romantic, artistic, design city. Only 50 minutes by train from Rotterdam.
Actually closer than going to amsterdam from here.
